Miss Ava

My little muse for a few hours while I was photographing her new baby sister.
I would sneak in a few fun shots while mom was feeding or rocking baby to sleep.
Ava is my best puddle jumper, I got the best shots of her last year jumping in the
biggest mud puddle. But she is also a girly girl, she loves shoes and nail polish. I don't
think she cares for old fashioned hair curlers!!! OUCH!!! She reminds me of myself in
away. Such a girly girl growing up, always braiding or styling my girlfriends hair for dances,
funny I always ran out of time to do my own hair for the dances, boo hoo! But after school
all us kids couldn't wait to slip our feet into grocery bags and then rubber boots to see
what grand puddles we could attack. We built tree forts, raced paper boats in the ditches,
rode our bikes all over town (six baby streets) we would search for loose change
(my dad's work grip, score) to head up to Ozzie's for a cream soda in a bottle, or
cinnamon toothpicks. Do they even sell those anymore? My favorite store had to be the
5 cents to a dollar store. I'll take 50 cents of macaroons and 50 cents of rosebuds please.
Such fun memories were made on all six streets! When I told Miss Ava to pretend to dial/call
a friend using the old retro phone, she looked at me with the most confused look on her face.
Like I was from outer space, what do me mean dial? Yeah kids today have no idea about
rotary phones, lol. OMG I'm getting old, I had to say... well when we were kids this is what
we used to call our friends, or phone boys (Mark Amun*#en) and hangup like the speed of light.
This getting older thing, I'm not sure I like it that much. It has crossed my mind a few times just
how many likes I'd get on Instagram being an 80 year old in my pink rubber boots and walker
trying to make a splash???!!!?? That actually would be cute on a card, I'll have to write that
down so I don't forget to do that. I should probably take advantage that therapy in Canada is
free, eh! I did go once a long time ago, like last year!!! I said to him it felt like a death and he
replied "But nobody actually died!" gawd like I know that, geez!!! Aren't they suppose to tell
you Unicorns truly do exsist and that if I want to be a mermaid to go for it??? If anyone knows
of a therapist like that sign me up. Anyways I got side tracked there for a bit, back to the STAR
of the show. She's the best, sweet, kind, wanting to help her mom with her sister. She asked if
she could come over so I could actually paint her nails for real. I'm going to go pick her up and
bring her to the store to buy her favorite nail polish color and hang out with her. The least I could
do for making her put those curlers in, right?!
Can't wait!  xoxo
