My all time favourite quote... I will never grow tired of reading it! I am off to the Twin Cities for a fun 4 day weekend with the family. My son's hockey team made it to state, hoot hoot... While I am there cheering on the team, I have a really fun photo session planned with a couple of gorgeous gals at Mickey's Diner. I can hardly wait to go there and order a SUPER LARGE milkshake... Where do I begin... I absolutely love these two, I felt like I was photographing a famous Hollywood couple. Does she not look like some of the actresses from the Pearl Harbor movie... I enjoyed how playful they were for the camera, yet they could easily become serious to create more of a mood shot, every photographers dream! These photo's are extra special because Jordan is in the military and is getting deployed, he will be gone until September. I am so glad I was able to meet him and capture these two together, so special.

I wanted to mention that Hillaire's hair and make-up was done by Emily who works in a beautiful salon in Warroad MN called Reiki by Design, owned by Carmen(218)386-2026. Did she not do an amazing job or what, I am looking forward to having Emily do my hair and make-up sometime for a photo session.

I love this session, Jessica is such a beautiful girl and so easy to photograph. She is sweet and extremely natural in front of the camera. She is currently studying Graphic Design and Photography, so I love that we incorporated old cameras and books into the session. I had a really hard time choosing ones to share, so this is a looooong blog post, so if you have some time please sit back and enjoy this gorgeous gal.

Winter's Gift

We've had an amazing winter, it hasn't been until recently that we actually had snow to shovel. I was recently asked by a company to work on winter/Christmas styled sessions, so that is what I have been busy doing these days. I feel completely honoured and lucky to have this amazing opportunity.

These two kiddos are so fun, full of love, laughter and personality... I've been photographing them since they were babies, what a treat to see them grow and change each year. Sabra {mom} and I have developed a very close friendship over the years, I love that she puts so much thought and effort into the photo session. Gosh it has been way to long since I did a blog post... I have had a ton of sessions and projects on the go that I find the days come and go with the blink of an eye. This precious little girl was born on Christmas Day... the best gift a mother could receive. She came to visit me when she was only nine days old. She is the most delicious newborn ever. Lots of smiles already, she slept so soundly throughout the whole session. Lisa I am so thrilled that you have another daughter, Kennedy and her will make lots of fun memeories together. Congratulations guys!

One of my pictures was selected by Caribou Coffee (hoot hoot) to be displayed in their stores over the holiday season. I was so thrilled I can't even begin to tell you. When we went shopping in Duluth the picture hung in the middle of the mall and I just couldn't believe it. I have to thank my son for being the shoe model in this picture, he was pretty stoked.

May I have this skate...

What a fun session.... it was freezing though! The sun was out in the morning and by the time I was done curling her hair it had clouded over and the temp had dropped. But we do live in Minnesota/Ontario we should be use to COLD temperatures, tee hee hee!
I got a book for Christmas called fun with plastic cameras, the processing of this session was inspired by all the wonderful photos displayed in that book. Lots of grain, light leaks and vingettes.

When I first looked at this session I got the shivers, I was just taken away with the emotion the children displayed. This session was inspired by my friend Nikki, she asked me if I would do a nativity session with her children for her mother as a Christmas gift. At first I was a bit nervous, it was so different from anything I had ever done before. I like to try new things and this is so very different from my usual style. I enjoyed every second of this session, there is so much meaning and love. I know grandma will be in tears when she looks at her photo book for the first time. Nikki you and your children are amazing, thanks for allowing me to take part in this, I will treasure this session forever! Merry Christmas, xox

My husband is taking the day off work tomorrow and we are heading to Duluth MN to do our Christmas shopping, yes another year we have left it until the last minute. I am not sure how we are going to shop for four boys in one day.... eeeeeeks that sounds so scary to me... I am looking forward to spending time with the hubs, it seems with hockey we never get to spend much time together, but I am not looking forward to the crowds. Wish me luck.... xox

Thought I would share some random pictures, I love taking holiday themed photos, all the pops of red make me happy during the month of December and then back to pink in January, tee hee hee... I bought my youngest son that HUGE cocoa mug, he loves cocoa and I just knew it would make him smile and it did, he put a whole bag of marshmallows in it too, we had to help him finish it... hope everyone is staying warm and having fun Christmas shopping. xox

Is she not the cutest baby ever... I pretend she's mine, shhhh.... Love all her facial expressions, they make laugh until my tummy hurts, hee hee! I think I will enlarge the last one for the studio, that way I know I will always start my day with a big smile. A huge thank you to my best friend from elementary and highschool who sent me the buggy, I still have to get hubby to put the handle on it, you all know how that goes I'm sure! Love it Vicki and Love you too! and thanks Nikki for sharing Cassandra with me and for our weekly visits, a time I treasure always.
