Meet Christie

If there has been one session that has truly touched my heart this is the one. I've been saving this session so I could share it with you during Breast Cancer Awareness month. A few months back a got a knock on my door, it happened to be this wonderful lady Christie. She began to tell me her story, with tears filling her eyes... That she had been recently diagnosed with breast cancer. My heart just broke into pieces. She was wondering if I would take her pictures, that it had been forever since she had any professional portraits done and wanted to have some taken for her children. Of course I was more than happy to do this, it would give me the chance to spend some time with her and get to know better. This gal has so much positive energy and has an amazing zest for life. She LOVES her 3 beautiful grown children and her little granddaughter more than anything in this world. She has fight in her and I know this will just be a chapter in her life. She brought along some personal things that mean alot to her. One being a violin her mother got when she was only thirteen years old, something she treasures as a keepsake to remember her mother by and a favorite photo of her three children. We laughed, joked and just had a great time together. I pray for her every night and I know she would greatly appreciate as much support and prayers as she could get. So tonight when you are saying your prayers can PLEASE say one for her. Thank You!

I wonder if any of us can begin to imagine what you have given to this person. Bless you truly, and sending prayers her way.

Hi Kim,
I just wanted to say I love all the photo's you did for me...and the ones you chose here for your site...especially the one (putting the boot to breast cancer). How Empowering!

You are truely talented and have a gentle spirit that allows us to want to tell our story. I am so glad you opened the door that day and dropped everything to spend the afternoon with me (I was awaiting surgery). I have had so many moments like this and for that reason Rainy River ON will always be special to me. You are a blessing! AND..THANK YOU TO ALL YOUR SPECIAL BLOGGERS FOR THEIR PRAYERS AND KINDNESS!

As an update...I feel great and my doctors are and have used the word "amazed" with my progress and so I am claiming this and running with it! After the chemo this winter my girls are planning a road trip for the spring (I love road trips) Any ideas where to go?

Until then I will be absorbing all this positive energy, fighting the good fight AND...sleeping with my boots on, ha. xo xo

This beautiful lady "Christie" is my very dearest friend of 28 years. Our children grew up together for a short period of time. No matter where or how far apart or how long we have not seen each other we always picked up right where we left off. So many hours of stories and laughter we shared I will always cherish them close to my heart. This summer in July when we got the news that she had breast cancer "my whole world fell apart" first thought that came to my mind was "what am I going to do without my Sista" - But knowing Christie a true fighter she was and I saw that first hand; she just shone right past her cancer with positive energy and her fight for life. She has made me look at my life differently. My love and prayer goes out to my very special Sista. Not a second goes by that I am not thinking about you. ooxx

Christie, you are truly a beautiful woman, as we can all see in your pictures. You always have a smile on your face and always full of laughs. I have to agree with the other comment, you do have a sparkle in your eyes. Keep fighting, you have the determination and the courage. I am very happy to say that you are a wonderful person, and friend to me. I cherish your friendship so much and always look forward to seeing you when you come to Thunder Bay. WE always have lots of fun and laughs together.
I would just like to say that your photographer does amazing pictures. I love the "props". But then again, look at the wonderful person she had to take pictures of.!!
Love you Christie!!!
